Northumberland Estates is committed to leading the transition to a low-carbon economy through innovative renewable energy projects.

Sustainability sits at the heart of our business strategy across the entire estate, from Northumberland to London, Albury and our wider landholdings.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability sits at the heart of our business strategy. We take our social and economic responsibilities seriously and focus on maximising the sustainability potential of both new and existing developments. Through thoughtful, innovative design, we reduce environmental impact while delivering lasting benefits for the communities we serve.

Investing in Communities

We work closely with the communities in which we operate to ensure our developments create long-term social and economic value. By prioritising sustainable design and responsible investment, we support local growth, enhance places, and deliver positive outcomes for people, businesses and the environment.

Solar Energy Solutions

Solar Farms

Our solar farms harness the power of sunlight to generate safe, locally produced renewable energy. As one of the least intrusive energy technologies, solar produces no noise or pollution and has minimal impact on land and wildlife. We design every solar project around environmental priorities, incorporating features that protect and restore local ecosystems.

Rooftop Solar

As part of our commitment to reducing energy consumption and investing in sustainable solutions, we assess the potential for rooftop solar installations across our commercial properties. By installing solar panels on suitable rooftops, we supply tenants with clean, renewable energy at rates lower than traditional utility providers. This approach reduces environmental impact while enhancing the occupier experience through access to low-carbon technology.
