Alnwick Castle offers free educational visits for local schools

As part of Northumberland Estates’ ongoing commitment to education, Alnwick Castle is offering free educational visits to schools within the NE65 and NE66 postcodes.

School visits give pupils the opportunity to explore history and heritage in an inspiring real-world setting, enhancing classroom learning through interactive, hands-on experiences within a medieval castle. Schools can choose from a range of curriculum-linked workshops and activities covering subjects such as medieval history, art, storytelling and daily life in a castle.

The initiative aims to strengthen local connections and ensure young people in the community can directly benefit from the Castle’s cultural and educational resources.

Schools interested in finding out more about availability and booking educational visits can contact education@alnwickcastle.com.

Alnwick Castle has been at the heart of Northumberland’s history and heritage for centuries, and we’re proud to share that story with the local community. These initiatives are our way of giving back – encouraging residents to enjoy the Castle for themselves and giving local schoolchildren the chance to learn in one of the most inspiring classrooms imaginable.
