The Community Fund is a small grants program that reflects the charitable interests of the Duke of Northumberland and Northumberland Estates. It supports local projects and initiatives that benefit communities across the region.

Building Strong Community Partnerships

Northumberland Estates has a long history of building partnerships and delivering projects that positively impact local communities. Wherever we operate, we support those in need through fundraising, volunteering, donations, and raising awareness.

The Northumberland Estates Community Fund

The Community Fund was established to support community groups, charities, and organisations within our operational areas, including Northumberland, North Tyneside, and the Southern Estate in Hounslow and West London.

Supporting Local Charities and Organisations

Since its formation in 2019, the Fund has supported over 450 organisations and charities. It fosters community links through cooperation, education, staff volunteering, and non-financial support. Donations from the Fund are used in various ways to assist charities and organisations committed to improving the lives of local people.

Applying

Community Fund Applications

The Community Fund accepts applications year-round. Grants are usually one-time awards for projects that improve the lives of people living in the designated areas.

Eligibility and Geographic Scope

Small Grants are limited to projects in North East England and West London. Applications must be submitted using the official application form and are reviewed by our Small Grants Panel.

Application Process and Guidelines

There are no fixed deadlines for the Community Fund, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis. However, applicants cannot reapply within 24 months of receiving funding. The most successful applications are those that demonstrate a wide-reaching benefit to the community.

Please contact community@northumberlandestates.co.uk with an overview of your project to obtain an application form and further guidance.
