Overview

Based in Alnwick Castle, we are looking to hire an Accounts Clerk (Purchase Ledger) to join the Trust Estate finance team.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Invoice processing for several entities.
  • Investigating purchase ledger queries.
  • Liaising with suppliers and other departments.
  • Sawmill banking and sales invoicing.
  • Archive’s sales invoicing.
  • Daily bank statement imports.
  • Payment runs for several entities, weekly and monthly. (BACS and Cheques)
  • Utilities management.
  • Any month end duties as required.
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as required.

The Business:

The Northumberland Estates is the overall title given to the personal and business interests of the Duke of Northumberland and close family members of the Percy family.

The business operates as one but is often separated into two divisions; Trust Estate and Corporate. The Corporate arm of the group is a relatively new enterprise and focusses on commercial and residential property development, whilst the Trust Estate focusses on more traditional businesses such as agriculture, farming and residential letting.

 

The Role:

Based in Alnwick Castle, we are looking to hire an Accounts Clerk (Purchase Ledger) to join the Trust Estate finance team.

  • Excellent communication skills and organisational skills and be able to manage a busy workload independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in developing relationships with internal customers.
  • Prepared to take ownership of tasks and look to improve processes.
