Senior Living

The Ageing Well Village is the first of its kind in the UK - a £40million development by Northumberland Estates designed to reduce the need for hospital admissions and provide longer-term care within a residential community

To ensure that the project was delivered to the highest standards it required input from a range of partners in terms of design and specialist understanding of health and care facilities. Collaboration was critical throughout the scheme and we partnered with NHS and care specialists to ensure that the development offers the full range of facilities that help occupants live healthier, more independent lives supported by experienced health and social care professionals.

In addition to being a flagship scheme for those living in older age, environmental impact was assessed and an embodied carbon/ lifecycle costing of the entire scheme will take place under Northumberland Estates’ commitment to net zero.

The final result is 201,000 sq.ft ‘Ageing Well Village’ which incorporates high-quality modern housing, care facilities, new technologies, social engagement and well-being services within a community environment.

Lloyds Field

Alnwick Springs based at Lloyds Field is a new £1.2 million holiday park based in Alnwick.  The new holiday park comprises 66 caravans and 24 lodges on a 4ha site and includes water features, gymnasium, small bar with seating area and open space, carefully selected landscaping, a small children’s play area and open recreational spaces. Walking and cycling routes down to the coast of Alnmouth and short walks to Alnwick town centre. 

The park is ideally located to support the town’s tourist economy, phase 1 will be operational by summer 2024. 

Northumberland Estates have agreed a long term lease with holiday park experts Coast and Country Leisure.

Bailiffgate Hotel

Alnwick's Bailiffgate Hotel is currently under construction. A modern five-story building will be built adjacent to a beautiful Georgian schoolhouse to create Northumberland's newest luxury hotel.

Located in Alnwick town centre, the hotel overlooks Alnwick Castle and will offer high quality accommodation and economic benefits to the town. A total of three properties (known as Nos. 2-8 at Bailiffgate, the former Duchess' School) and additional structures and buildings are included in the development.

Bailiffgate Hotel  was designed to sit within the context of its historical setting and on completion will comprise 48 bedrooms, suites, and apartments, as well as a stylish bar, restaurant, and private dining room. Opening is scheduled for summer 2024.
