The sea wall protecting the iconic Church Hill at Alnmouth which was damaged by a storm surge six years ago is to be repaired by Northumberland Estates. Although Church Hill lies within a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), the hill and wall fall outside the village conservation area and are not listed. The Estates has completed a survey of the wall and now plans to carry out repairs during the next 12 months, subject to receiving the necessary SSSI permits.

The New Year will see construction begin at Willowburn Retail Park in Alnwick according to owners and developers, Northumberland Estates.   Having agreed terms with national retailer M&S Food Hall, local Alnwick butchery business Turnbulls and coffee chain Starbucks, work can now commence with completion due in August 2019.

The communities of Lesbury and Hipsburn near Alnwick could see two new exciting developments and significant investment under proposals being put forwards by Northumberland Estates.
